The Museum of Military History in Vienna

The Military History Museum was built according to plans of Ludwig Foerster and Theophil Hansen from 1850 to 1856 and was thus the first Viennese museum. The styles of this town's oldest historic building range from Byzantine, Hispano-Moorish to Neo-Gothic. In five major sections the museum shows the history of the Habsburg empire from the end of the 16th century until 1918 and Austria's fate after the dissolution of the monarchy up to the year 1945. The Slovak Institute in Vienna offers the Slovak art, culture, history and cities in presentations. Through deeper meets the Slovak culture, thetraditions and the art, a contribution to the better understanding shall achieve between the republic of Austria and the Slovak republic, because the historic solidarity between Vienna and Bratislava has a long history, that is given by the geographical proximity of the two capitals. The Slovak institute offers approximately the prospect to four events monthly, mostly it is a concert, a Vernissage, appearance of a folklore-group, a city-presentation, a reading, a discussion-evening or a film-idea. It becomes famous here on the one hand and known artists introduced in whole world, on the other hand the possibility is offered also the young artist to appear abroad.
